Below is John’s Chairman’s Report:

Good evening everyone and thank you for coming along to this Annual General Meeting.

It has been a rather up and down 12 months since our last meeting – this time last year we were anticipating a continuing progress to promotion before the reality check of two defeats by Dartford! Despite that setback The Fleet proceeded to win promotion back to The National League by a good points margin. This righted the injustice of the points per game relegation of two seasons ago. After a promising start, this season has proved harder than we might have
hoped. Despite this away travel has been fairly well supported – even on the long trips North! A good result at Oldham gave hope the poor spell was behind us but defeat at Kidderminster left those supporters who braved the cold disappointed and Fleet still in the relegation places. Thanks to all those who regularly use the away coaches. I’m sure they are amongst the best value in the league for price. It is pleasing to have a number of younger fans making regular use of the away travel. Our thanks to Grange Travel for their continued support and competitive pricing.

A tremendous amount of work is done by our splendid group of volunteers – not only on match days but through the week. They deal with car parking, goals and pitch duty on match days and a host of maintenance and ‘hole watching’ as the water is pumped away. Hopefully the new pumps will be in place soon. On behalf of all Supporters a big thank you is owed to you all. I know their splendid work is appreciated by The Club and saves them a deal of money.

This season The Fleet Supporters’ Trust are sponsoring the Under 10 reds boys’ team. They play their home games at Kedbull Leisure in Northfleet and having watched them myself they are well worth a look. We are also supporting the Ebbsfleet Womens’ team and have contributed to away travel for their cup game at Chesham. The weekend away to York in March 2024 has been well supported; there are three rooms available if anyone wishes to join us. We are staying in York and attending the game at FC Halifax.

I would like to place on record my thanks to all the Board members for their hard work on your behalf throughout the season with away travel, Golden Goals and 50/50. John Snow resigned from The Board during the past year and a thank you to him for his time spent with us.

If anyone is interested in joining The Board please speak to any Board Member.

Hopefully the results will improve soon and ensure our remaining in The National League for another season.
